If you find yourself meandering through Ottersberg, a charming stop awaits at Puppencafé. This delightful café, nestled on Kirchstraße, is not just a place to grab a bite but an experience that beckons with its unique charm and warm hospitality.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by the cozy ambiance, adorned with a whimsical collection of old dolls that evoke a sense of nostalgia. Each corner tells a story, creating a serene atmosphere where you can easily lose track of time. While the beautiful outdoor seating offers a glimpse of nature on sunny days, many guests appreciate the snug indoor setting when the weather is less inviting.

The menu showcases hearty German cuisine, with the standout dish being the Jäger schnitzel served with crisp fries. One satisfied customer, H S, exclaimed about their unexpected delight in this generous portion—a true culinary testament to comfort food. The schnitzel was not only large but also bursting with flavor, making it an irresistible choice for anyone craving a filling meal. Accompanied by an excellent beer on tap, your taste buds are in for a treat.

For those with a sweet tooth, Puppencafé is renowned for its desserts. A light and airy selection of cakes, described as "very very good" by Aaron Hardin, offers something for everyone—whether you're in the mood for a decadent slice or a simple sweet treat. The daily-changing cake menu ensures that there’s always something new to discover, and Malte Michel noted how generous the portions are, making it hard to resist trying more than one!

Finn Köntopf highlighted the attentive and caring staff, who envelop patrons in a relaxed vibe, where you can savor every moment. It’s a place where you’re encouraged to sit back, unwind, and truly appreciate the comforting flavors of Puppencafé.

We were looking for somewhere decent to eat, on our way back to Amsterdam from Hamburg, and found the Puppencafe. What a lovely surprise. It's a very cosy place full of old dolls. There is a garden, but we sat inside as it wasn't very warm that day. We ordered the Jäger schnitzel with fries. It was absolutely delicious, and of course large! The beer on tap was excellent. The service was friendly and hospitable. Unfortunately, we had no room for cake, but they had a wide selection, and they looked amazing. So, all in all, a great place to stop. It's in a tiny village with a museum. If we are ever in the area again, we would return. .

Beautiful location with lots of outdoor seating. Lunch food was pretty good and the cakes were nice. Not the best in town, but still a good spot for lunch on a nice day.

Very very good cakes, light and airy and not too sweet. Great stop for bikes.

Beautiful and calm tables outside, right under the trees. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The place seems to be famous for its cakes and pies - with good reason as I found out. The list of cakes they had changes on a daily basis, with some of them being available most of the time (if they're not sold out yet). The pieces in general are quite generous and the ones I tried so far were some of the most delicious ones I ever had! Absolutely worth it to be included in every bike or road trip, even if it means making a detour
